Offerings from the Local Area
We support our local community and the Veterans Administration, not just because we use the serves they provide us with, but because we never forgot the first rule of life: we are all in this together. Here are some offerings that our local Hudson Valley community provides for our veteran community.
It's not always easy to clean your home, especially when you are faced with limitations or extreme impairments. NSI Cleaning offers a free home cleaning for disbaled veterans. It's owner, Joanne Iannolo, has a deep love and respect for our veteran community. This is her way of giving back to those who have served. Contact her at +1.914.475.7224 to learn if you qualify for this service. Location and travel dependent.
Since 1974, the staff and volunteers of the Humane Society of Walden have provided quality care for many companion pets while they wait for their forever homes. The Humane Society of Walden is a no-kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit safe haven dedicated to rescuing and rehoming stray and abandoned cats and dogs. With a mission to provide care and find permanent, loving homes for animals in need, HSW serves as a vital resource in the community including the towns of Montgomery, Crawford, Shawangunk, and Mamakating.
Veterans enrolled in the Hudson Valley Veterans Administration can now access Innerworld Virtual Reality tool that helps break down the barriers between who you are and who you want to become while increasing your resiliency and cognitive growth. To learn more contact Angel Duncan, LCSW at +1.914.527.0193 (VA Hudson Valley Health System).
